Method
- Step 1: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). This step is crucial for achieving that nice, golden crust.
- Step 2: In a skillet, heat a small amount of olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Step 3: Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook until they turn pink, about 3-4 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- Step 4: In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked shrimp, shredded cheese, cream cheese, green onions, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well until fully combined.
- Step 5: Roll out the pre-made pie crusts on a floured surface and cut them into circles (approximately 4-6 inches in diameter).
- Step 6: Place a spoonful of the shrimp mixture in the center of each circle.
- Step 7: Fold the pie crust over the filling to create a half-moon shape. Press the edges together to seal, and crimp with a fork for a decorative touch.
- Step 8: Brush the tops of the hand pies with the beaten egg.
- Step 9: Place the hand pies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Step 10: Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Step 11: Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy!
Notes
These hand pies are best enjoyed fresh, but you can store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, simply pop them in the oven for a few minutes until warmed through. You can also freeze them before baking for up to 2 months.
