Ingredients

For the Surf & Turf Cajun Skillet
  • 1 lb shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 1 lb steak cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 unit bell pepper diced
  • 1 unit onion diced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes halved
  • 1 cup corn (fresh or frozen)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

Equipment

  • Large Skillet

Method

  1. Step 1: In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the steak pieces and season with 1 tablespoon of Cajun seasoning. Cook until browned and cooked to your desired doneness, about 4-6 minutes. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
  2. Step 2: In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil. Add the diced onion and bell pepper. Sauté for 3-4 minutes until softened.
  3. Step 3: Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Step 4: Add the shrimp to the skillet, along with the remaining Cajun seasoning. Cook until the shrimp are pink and opaque, about 3-4 minutes.
  5. Step 5: Add the cherry tomatoes and corn to the skillet. Stir and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  6. Step 6: Pour in the heavy cream and return the cooked steak to the skillet. Stir well to combine and let simmer for 2-3 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Step 7: Remove from heat and garnish with fresh chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. To reheat, simply warm it up on the stove over medium heat, adding a splash of water or broth to keep it moist.
