Ingredients

For the Steak, Rice & Egg Power Plate
  • 8 oz steak (sirloin or ribeye) choose your favorite cut for the best flavor
  • 1 cup cooked rice (white or brown) this serves as a perfect base for the dish
  • 2 large eggs add richness and protein to your meal
  • 2 tbsp olive oil helps to get that beautiful sear on the steak and fry the eggs
  • Salt and pepper
  • Optional: chopped green onions for garnish

Equipment

  • Skillet

Method

  1. Step 1: Start by seasoning the steak with salt and pepper on both sides.
  2. Step 2: Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. The oil should shimmer, but not smoke.
  3. Step 3: Add the steak to the skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until your desired doneness is reached.
  4. Step 4: Remove the steak from the heat and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.
  5. Step 5: In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil. Crack the eggs into the skillet and fry them to your preference.
  6. Step 6: To assemble your plate, place a serving of rice on one side, add the sliced steak next to the rice, and top with the fried eggs.
  7. Step 7: Garnish with chopped green onions, if desired, and serve immediately.
