This easy-to-make marinade will elevate your grilling game and leave your taste buds dancing with delight!
Prep Time 10 minutes
Course: Condiment, Marinade
Cuisine: American

Ingredients

For the Steak Marinade
  • 1/4 cup olive oil adds richness and helps flavors stick to meat
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce brings umami to the marinade
  • 2 tbsp red wine vinegar for a tangy kick
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce adds depth and complexity
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard adds a zing
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar adds sweetness
  • 1 tsp black pepper adds a nice kick
  • 1 tsp salt essential for flavor
  • 1 tsp dried rosemary optional; fragrant herb

Method

  1. Step 1: In a medium bowl, whisk together the olive oil, soy sauce, red wine vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, and Dijon mustard until well combined.
  2. Step 2: Add the minced garlic, brown sugar, black pepper, salt, and dried rosemary (if using) to the mixture. Whisk until the sugar is dissolved and all ingredients are thoroughly mixed.
  3. Step 3: Place your steak in a resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the steak, ensuring it is well coated.
  4. Step 4: Seal the bag or cover the dish, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or up to overnight for maximum flavor.
  5. Step 5: When you’re ready, remove the steak from the marinade and discard the marinade. Cook the steak to your desired doneness on a grill, in a skillet, or in the oven.

Notes

Don't skip the marination time! Even a couple of hours can make a big difference. Store leftover marinade (not used on raw meat) in an airtight container for up to one week.
