Method
- Step 1: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, chopped spinach, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, egg, salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning. Mix gently until just combined.
- Step 3: Take a portion of the meat mixture, flatten it in your palm, place a cube of mozzarella in the center, then mold the meat around it to form a tight ball.
- Step 4: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with olive oil or cooking spray. Arrange the meatballs evenly spaced on the tray.
- Step 5: Bake for 20-25 minutes, until cooked through and golden brown. The cheese inside should be melted and the juices run clear.
- Step 6: Serve hot with your favorite sides like salad, garlic bread, or mashed potatoes.
Notes
You can pan-fry the meatballs for a crispy crust instead of baking. Freeze assembled raw meatballs on a baking sheet, then transfer to a bag for easy cooking later. Reheat leftovers in the oven or microwave. Swap breadcrumbs for gluten-free options if needed.
