Ingredients

For the Stir-Fry
  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 red bell pepper chopped
  • 1 yellow bell pepper chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper chopped
  • 1-2 fresh jalapeños thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tbsp sriracha
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • salt and black pepper to taste
  • chopped green onions for garnish
  • fresh cilantro for garnish

Equipment

  • Large Skillet or Wok
  • Tongs

Method

  1. Step 1: Heat your olive oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Once it’s shimmering, add your bite-sized chicken pieces. Sauté them until they're beautifully golden brown and cooked all the way through. Don't forget to season them with a little salt and black pepper as they cook – it makes a difference!
  2. Step 2: Toss in your chopped bell peppers and minced garlic. Stir-fry them with the chicken for about 3–4 minutes. You want them to be tender but still have a slight crispness, so they don't get mushy.
  3. Step 3: Now for the flavor explosion! Pour in the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, and sriracha. Stir everything together really well to make sure all those gorgeous ingredients are coated in that delicious sauce.
  4. Step 4: Take the skillet off the heat. This is where you add the thinly sliced jalapeños – sprinkle them over the top. Then, shower your stir-fry with chopped green onions and fresh cilantro.
  5. Step 5: Serve this amazing Spicy Jalapeño Chicken Stir-Fry hot. It’s fantastic on its own, but I highly recommend serving it with fluffy steamed rice or your favorite noodles. It’s a complete meal that’s so satisfying!

Notes

For a milder flavor, deseed the jalapeños or omit them. Add broccoli florets, snap peas, carrots, or mushrooms for extra veggies. A drizzle of honey or sesame oil at the end can add another layer of flavor.
