Ingredients

For the Brownies
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder provides the rich chocolate flavor
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour helps bind everything together
  • 1 cup granulated sugar balances the cocoa's bitterness
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar adds moisture and caramel flavor
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted for fudgy texture
  • 4 large eggs essential for binding and richness
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract for warm, inviting flavor
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt enhances all flavors
  • 1 cup shredded coconut adds chewy texture and tropical flair
  • 1 cup mini marshmallows create gooey pockets of sweetness
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar for dusting

Equipment

  • 9x13-inch baking pan
  • Large Mixing Bowl
  • Spatula

Method

  1. Step 1: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper for easy removal.
  2. Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Mix until well combined—it should look nice and glossy!
  3. Step 3: Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the mixture and beat until smooth. This is where the magic starts to happen!
  4. Step 4: In a separate bowl, sift together the cocoa powder, flour, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Don’t overmix; we want these brownies to remain fudgy!
  5. Step 5: Fold in the shredded coconut and mini marshmallows until evenly distributed.
  6. Step 6: Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
  7. Step 7: Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  8. Step 8: Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. Step 9: Dust the top with powdered sugar before cutting into squares and serving.
