Method
- Step 1: In a bowl, combine the chicken breasts and buttermilk. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
- Step 2: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Getting that oven nice and hot is crucial.
- Step 3: In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper (if using).
- Step 4: Remove the chicken from the buttermilk and let any excess drip off. Dredge each piece of chicken in the flour mixture until fully coated.
- Step 5: In a large oven-safe skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the coated chicken breasts and cook for 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown.
- Step 6: Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through.
- Step 7: Remove the skillet from the oven and let the chicken rest for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. You can also freeze it for up to 3 months. Just reheat in the oven for the best results!
