Ingredients

  • Nonstick cooking spray for greasing
  • 1 8-ounce tube refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 2 tablespoons orange sanding sugar
  • 1 tablespoon purple sanding sugar
  • 1 tablespoon green sanding sugar
  • 8 marshmallows
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter melted

Equipment

  • Muffin tin
  • medium bowl

Method

  1. Step 1: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease 8 cups of a muffin tin with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Step 2: Unroll the crescent dough triangles. In a medium bowl, combine the orange, purple, and green sanding sugars.
  3. Step 3: Dip a marshmallow into the melted butter, then roll it in the sugar mixture. Place the coated marshmallow on the wider end of a crescent dough triangle. Fold the sides of the dough over the marshmallow and roll from the wide end to enclose it completely. Pinch the seams to seal. Place the dough ball into a prepared muffin cup. Repeat for the remaining marshmallows.
  4. Step 4: Brush the tops of the dough balls with any remaining melted butter. Sprinkle with additional sugar mixture.
  5. Step 5: Bake for 13 to 15 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Step 6: Carefully remove the buns from the muffin pan and let them cool on a plate for at least 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For a different flavor, try rolling the buttered marshmallow in a cinnamon and sugar mixture. You can also add a small dollop of cream cheese before wrapping the marshmallow for an extra decadent treat.
