Ingredients

For the Juicy Beef Steak
  • 1 lb beef steak your choice of cut
Seasonings
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
For the Rice
  • 1 cup cooked rice white, brown, or cauliflower rice
For the Jammy Eggs
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 each avocado sliced
  • 1 bunch fresh herbs optional, for garnish

Equipment

  • Skillet
  • Pot

Method

  1. Step 1: Start by seasoning your beef steak generously with salt and pepper on both sides. This step is essential for flavor!
  2. Step 2: Heat a tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. You want it hot enough to give the steak a nice sear.
  3. Step 3: Add the steak to the skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until your desired doneness is reached. Remember, a little patience goes a long way here. Once done, remove the steak from the heat and let it rest for a few minutes.
  4. Step 4: While the steak is resting, bring a pot of water to a gentle simmer. Carefully add the eggs and cook for 6-7 minutes for those perfect jammy yolks. Once cooked, place them in an ice bath for a few minutes before peeling.
  5. Step 5: Slice the rested steak into strips, letting the juices flow.
  6. Step 6: On a plate, arrange a bed of cooked rice, then layer the sliced steak and avocado on top. This is where it all comes together beautifully!
  7. Step 7: Halve the jammy eggs and place them on top of the steak and rice. Garnish with fresh herbs if you like, and serve immediately. Enjoy the deliciousness!

Notes

This dish is best enjoyed fresh, but if you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat gently on the stovetop or in the microwave, but keep an eye on the egg to prevent it from overcooking.
