Ingredients

For the Glow Bubble Foam
  • 2 tablespoons tear-free baby wash or dish soap tear-free baby wash is preferred for safety
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1–2 tablespoons glow-in-the-dark non-toxic paint or fluorescent washable paint use non-toxic options; fluorescent paint works well under a blacklight
  • few drops neon food coloring optional, for brighter colors under a blacklight

Equipment

  • Medium-sized mixing bowl
  • Hand mixer
  • Large container (plastic bin or sturdy bowl)

Method

  1. In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine the tear-free baby wash or dish soap and water. Whisk gently to combine.
  2. Add 1 tablespoon of glow-in-the-dark paint or fluorescent washable paint to the soapy water. Add more for a more intense glow or color. If using, add a few drops of neon food coloring.
  3. Using a hand mixer, beat the mixture on high speed for 1 to 2 minutes until it transforms into a thick, fluffy foam.
  4. Carefully transfer the foam into a large container ready for playtime.
  5. To create more colors, repeat steps 1-4 in separate bowls with different paint colors.
  6. Dim the lights and use a blacklight in your play area to activate the glow effect. Enjoy the mesmerizing sensory experience!

Notes

You can make the foam a few hours in advance and store it covered at room temperature. Give it a quick fluff with a spoon before play. Adult supervision is always recommended during sensory play.
