Ingredients

For the Garlic Butter Shrimp Boil
  • 1 lb large shrimp deveined and shells removed
  • 4 ears corn cut into halves
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 6 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp Old Bay seasoning
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 lemon juiced

Equipment

  • Large Pot

Method

  1. Step 1: In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil over high heat. Add the corn halves and cook for 5-7 minutes until they are tender. Remove the corn and set it aside.
  2. Step 2: In the same pot, reduce the heat to medium and melt the unsalted butter. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Step 3: Stir in the Old Bay seasoning, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Cook for another minute to let the spices bloom.
  4. Step 4: Add the shrimp to the pot and cook for 3-4 minutes until they turn pink and opaque. Stir occasionally for even cooking.
  5. Step 5: Squeeze the juice of one lemon over the shrimp and corn, and toss everything together gently to combine.
  6. Step 6: Serve immediately, garnished with freshly chopped parsley.

Notes

If you have any leftover garlic butter sauce, it's fantastic as a dip for bread or drizzled over rice!
