Method
- Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Step 2: In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Once melted, remove it from the heat and stir in the granulated sugar until well combined.
- Step 3: Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then, stir in the vanilla extract.
- Step 4: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- Step 5: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Remember, do not overmix; a few lumps are okay!
- Step 6: Fold in the chocolate chips for that extra chocolatey goodness.
- Step 7: Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Step 8: Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers are still soft.
- Step 9: Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
