Ingredients

Fudgy Brownie Cookies
  • 1 cup unsalted butter Adds richness and a smooth texture.
  • 2 cups granulated sugar Sweetens the cookies beautifully.
  • 4 large eggs Helps bind everything together for that fudgy texture.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Enhances the flavors and adds a lovely aroma.
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Gives structure to the cookies.
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder The star ingredient for that rich chocolate flavor.
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder Helps the cookies rise just a bit.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt Balances out the sweetness.
  • 1 cup chocolate chips For that extra chocolatey goodness!

Equipment

  • Medium Saucepan
  • baking sheet
  • Parchment paper

Method

  1. Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Step 2: In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Once melted, remove it from the heat and stir in the granulated sugar until well combined.
  3. Step 3: Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then, stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Step 4: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Step 5: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Remember, do not overmix; a few lumps are okay!
  6. Step 6: Fold in the chocolate chips for that extra chocolatey goodness.
  7. Step 7: Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Step 8: Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers are still soft.
  9. Step 9: Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
