Cuisine: American

Ingredients

For the Colorful Foam
  • 1/4 cup baby body wash or tear-free bubble bath gentle, tear-free formula recommended
  • 1/2 cup water plain
  • food coloring optional, several colors for vibrant foam
Optional Additions
  • 1-2 drops kid-safe essential oils e.g., lavender or chamomile, for scent
  • biodegradable glitter optional, for extra sparkle

Equipment

  • Hand mixer or stand mixer
  • Large Mixing Bowl
  • Large plastic tub or sensory bin

Method

  1. Step 1: In a large mixing bowl, combine the baby body wash (or bubble bath) and water. If using food coloring, add a few drops now and gently swirl to combine. Avoid overmixing.
  2. Step 2: Use a hand mixer or stand mixer to beat the mixture. Start on low speed and gradually increase to high. Beat for 1-2 minutes until stiff peaks form.
  3. Step 3: Carefully pour or scoop the foam into a large plastic tub or sensory bin. Layer different colors if desired for a rainbow effect.
  4. Step 4: Add toys, scoops, funnels, or cups to the bin for playtime. Encourage children to explore the texture and create their own adventures.
  5. Step 5: Clean up by rinsing the tub and toys with warm water.

Notes

Always supervise young children during playtime. This foam is best used fresh, but leftovers can be stored in a tightly covered tub in the refrigerator for up to one day, though the texture may change.
