Prep Time 5 minutes
Servings: 1 glass

Ingredients

Hauptzutaten
  • 3 oz Amaretto
  • 2 oz Coconut Rum
  • 2 oz Pineapple Juice
  • 1 oz Orange Juice
  • 0.5 oz Grenadine
  • Ice Lots of it!
  • Maraschino cherry Optional garnish
  • Orange slice Optional garnish
  • Cocktail umbrella Optional garnish

Equipment

  • Tall glass Hurricane glass or highball
  • Spoon Optional, for layering grenadine

Method

  1. Grab a tall glass (hurricane or highball) and fill it nicely with ice.
  2. Measure and pour amaretto, coconut rum, pineapple juice, and orange juice directly into the glass over the ice.
  3. For a layered look (optional), gently pour grenadine over the back of a spoon held just above the drink's surface so it sinks slowly.
  4. Stir gently if you want flavors fully mixed, or skip stirring initially to keep layers.
  5. Garnish with a maraschino cherry, orange slice, and cocktail umbrella.

Notes

Tips:
- Use chilled ingredients.
- Don't skimp on ice.
- Practice the spoon trick for layering.
- Adjust sweetness by reducing grenadine or adding lime juice.
Substitutions & Additions:
- Replace coconut rum with white rum + optional coconut cream.
- Adjust juice ratios or add cranberry/passion fruit juice.
- Top with club soda, sparkling water, or prosecco for a sparkling version.
- Add a float of dark or spiced rum.
- Use fresh pineapple wedge, lime wheel, or toasted coconut flakes for garnish.
Storage:
- Best enjoyed fresh. Ice will dilute over time.
- Can pre-batch amaretto, rum, and juices (excluding ice) in the fridge; add grenadine, ice, and garnish individually when serving.
Non-Alcoholic Version:
- Replace amaretto with almond syrup.
- Replace coconut rum with coconut-flavored syrup.
- Use extra pineapple and orange juice + optional sparkling water.
- Keep grenadine and garnishes.
