DIY Snow Volcano Eruption

  • Baking soda
  • White vinegar
  • Dish soap
  • Food coloring (optional)
  • Snow (or crushed ice)

  • Small container or cup

Method
 

  1. Step 1: Begin by creating a mound of snow in a tray or large dish. This will be the base of your volcano.
  2. Step 2: Place a small container or cup in the center of your snow mound.
  3. Step 3: Add 1 cup of baking soda to the container and, if desired, a few drops of food coloring.
  4. Step 4: In a separate bowl, mix 1/2 cup of white vinegar and 1 tablespoon of dish soap.
  5. Step 5: Pour the vinegar mixture into the container with the baking soda and watch the eruption!

Notes

Store leftover snow in a container in your freezer for future use. The reaction is best when fresh.
