  • 1 colored art page or coloring page or construction paper, kids' art books
  • 1 mason jar lid flat part
  • 1 wide mouth mason jar band

Equipment

  • Scissors
  • String or Ribbon

Method

  1. Step 1: Select your artwork. If using a coloring page, color it with markers, crayons, or colored pencils.
  2. Step 2: Cut your artwork into a circle that fits snugly inside the flat part of a mason jar lid. Ensure it covers the entire bottom without gaps.
  3. Step 3: Place the cut-out artwork inside the mason jar lid, smoothing out any wrinkles.
  4. Step 4: Screw a wide-mouth mason jar band around the lid, over the artwork, to secure it.
  5. Step 5: Tie a piece of string or ribbon through the center hole of the lid band. Hang your sun catcher in a window or any desired spot.

Notes

For added sparkle, use glitter glue on the edges. You can also layer different papers or use tissue paper for a translucent effect. Avoid placing in areas with excessive moisture.
