Ingredients

For the Bouncy Balls
  • 0.5 cup clear school glue or glow-in-the-dark glue
  • 0.25 cup liquid starch
  • 1 tablespoon glow-in-the-dark paint or pigment powder
  • 0.25 cup warm water
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking soda
  • neon food coloring or glitter optional

Equipment

  • bowl
  • Wax Paper

Method

  1. Step 1: Grab a bowl and pour in your clear school glue. Add the warm water and stir it all together until it's nice and smooth.
  2. Step 2: Sprinkle in the baking soda and cornstarch. Give it another good stir until they're completely dissolved.
  3. Step 3: Stir in your glow-in-the-dark paint or pigment powder. If desired, add a few drops of neon food coloring or glitter. Mix until the color is vibrant and even.
  4. Step 4: Slowly pour in the liquid starch while stirring. The mixture will start to get thicker and clump together. Continue stirring until it's clumpy and pulls away from the sides of the bowl.
  5. Step 5: Take the thickened mixture out of the bowl and knead it with your hands until it becomes stretchy and firm enough to shape into a ball.
  6. Step 6: Test the bounce and stretch of your creation.
  7. Step 7: Place your bouncy ball on wax paper for a few minutes to let it set and firm up.

Notes

Store your bouncy balls in an airtight container or sealed plastic bag to prevent them from drying out. If they become sticky, try kneading them again or adding a bit more cornstarch.
