  • Metal baking sheet
  • Aluminum foil For easy cleanup
  • Electric or gas grill or toaster oven Preheat to 400-450 degrees F

  • Hot glue gun
  • Acrylic jewels or gems For finishing touch

Equipment

  • Star-shaped metal cookie cutters
  • Metal baking sheet
  • Aluminum foil
  • Electric or gas grill or toaster oven
  • Wooden dowels
  • Hot glue gun

Method

  1. Step 1: Cover your metal baking sheet completely with aluminum foil.
  2. Step 2: Place star-shaped cookie cutters onto the foil-covered baking sheet, spaced apart.
  3. Step 3: Tightly fill each cookie cutter with a mix of translucent and glitter pony beads. Experiment with color layering.
  4. Step 4: Preheat your electric or gas grill, or toaster oven, to 400-450 degrees F. Ensure good ventilation, preferably outdoors.
  5. Step 5: Carefully place the baking sheet with the filled cookie cutters into the preheated oven/grill. Bake for 5-15 minutes, or until beads melt and fuse into a solid shape. Watch closely.
  6. Step 6: Carefully remove the baking sheet from the heat and let the melted bead shapes cool down completely on the baking sheet.
  7. Step 7: Once cool, gently remove the fused bead shapes from the cookie cutters.
  8. Step 8: Apply hot glue to the back of a star bead shape and quickly press the end of a wooden dowel into the glue. Hold until set. Repeat for all shapes.
  9. Step 9: Use the hot glue gun to attach acrylic jewels or gems to the center of each star wand for extra sparkle.

Notes

Adult supervision is required for melting beads. Kids can assist with filling cutters and gluing jewels. Store finished wands in a cool, dry place.
