For the Sausage Cream Cheese Balls
  • 1 lb ground sausage mild or medium pork sausage
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 10 oz Rotel diced tomatoes and green chilies drained
  • 1.5 cups shredded cheddar cheese sharp cheddar recommended
  • 1.5 cups baking mix such as Bisquick
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper

Method
 

  1. Step 1: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Step 2: In a large bowl, combine ground sausage, softened cream cheese, drained Rotel diced tomatoes and green chilies, shredded cheddar cheese, baking mix, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Step 3: Mix everything together until evenly combined, preferably using your hands.
  4. Step 4: Shape the mixture into 1-inch balls and place them spaced apart on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Step 5: Bake for 20-25 minutes until cooked through and golden brown on the outside.
  6. Step 6: Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

Make sure cream cheese is softened for smooth mixing. Drain Rotel well to avoid excess moisture. Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 3 months. Reheat in oven or microwave.
