Ingredients

For the Crispy Shrimp Cheese Stuffed Bites
  • 1 lb shrimp peeled and deveined, chopped small
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp parsley chopped
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 package wonton wrappers
  • 1 large egg beaten, for sealing
  • oil for frying enough for 2 inches depth

Equipment

  • Deep Pan or Skillet
  • Mixing bowl
  • Slotted Spoon

Method

  1. Step 1: Chop shrimp finely and combine in a bowl with shredded mozzarella, cream cheese, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix well until creamy and evenly blended.
  2. Step 2: Lay wonton wrappers on a clean surface. Spoon about a teaspoon of the shrimp mixture onto each wrapper’s center. Fold into triangles and press edges firmly. Brush edges with beaten egg to seal tightly.
  3. Step 3: Pour oil into a deep pan or skillet to a 2-inch depth. Heat over medium-high until shimmering but not smoking (about 350°F).
  4. Step 4: Fry the stuffed wontons in batches for 2-3 minutes, turning occasionally until golden brown and crispy all over.
  5. Step 5: Remove bites with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Optionally, sprinkle with extra parsley and serve warm.

Notes

For a lighter option, bake the bites at 400°F for 12-15 minutes, spritzing with oil beforehand. Freeze un-fried bites on a baking sheet before transferring to a bag for easy future frying. Avoid microwaving leftovers to maintain crispiness.
