Method
- Step 1: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Step 2: Season the steak pieces generously with salt and pepper.
- Step 3: Set up a dredging station with bowls of flour, beaten eggs, and panko breadcrumbs. Coat each steak bite in flour, then egg, then panko breadcrumbs.
- Step 4: Arrange coated steak bites on the baking sheet, spacing them apart to bake evenly.
- Step 5: Bake for 15–20 minutes until golden brown and crispy. Optional: broil for 1-2 minutes for extra crispiness, watching carefully to avoid burning.
- Step 6: While baking, mix mayonnaise, minced garlic, and lemon juice in a small bowl to make creamy garlic sauce.
- Step 7: To assemble, spread creamy garlic sauce on the bottom half of each slider bun, place a crispy steak bite on top, then sprinkle with crispy fried onions.
- Step 8: Top with the other half of the slider bun and secure with a toothpick. Serve immediately with extra sauce for dipping.
Notes
Try ribeye or flank steak as alternatives. Use almond flour or gluten-free crackers for breading if desired. Add chipotle or smoked paprika to the sauce for a smoky twist. Cheese and fresh herbs like parsley or chives can add extra flavor. Store steak bites and sauce separately in the fridge for up to 2 days. Reheat steak bites in oven or air fryer for best texture.
