Ingredients

For the Chicken Tenders
  • 1 lb chicken tenderloins These are the star of the show, tender and juicy!
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour This helps create that perfect crispy coating.
  • 2 large eggs They bind everything together beautifully.
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs For that irresistible crunch!
  • 1 tsp garlic powder A must for flavor!
  • 1 tsp onion powder Adds sweetness and depth.
  • 1 tsp dried oregano A classic herb that complements the chicken.
  • 1 tsp dried thyme Another herb that brings a lovely aroma.
  • 1 zest lemon For a fresh and zesty kick!
  • 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice Brightens up the dish.
  • Salt and black pepper
  • Olive oil for frying

Equipment

  • Shallow bowls
  • Large Skillet

Method

  1. Step 1: In a shallow bowl, combine the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, thyme, lemon zest, salt, and pepper. This will be your flavorful coating.
  2. Step 2: In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and mix in the lemon juice. This mixture will help the breadcrumbs stick.
  3. Step 3: Place the breadcrumbs in another shallow bowl, ready for the final coating.
  4. Step 4: Dredge each chicken tender in the flour mixture, shaking off any excess flour.
  5. Step 5: Dip the floured tender into the egg mixture, then coat it with the breadcrumbs, pressing gently to make sure they stick.
  6. Step 6: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat until it's hot and shimmering.
  7. Step 7: Once the oil is ready, add the chicken tenders in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Cook until they are golden brown and crispy, about 4-5 minutes per side.
  8. Step 8: Transfer the cooked tenders to a paper towel-lined plate to drain off any excess oil.
  9. Step 9: Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce, and enjoy!

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, bake them in the oven at 350°F (175°C) until warmed through to maintain their crispiness.
