Ingredients
  

For the Crispy Honey Garlic Chili Shrimp
  • 1 lb large shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour for crispy coating
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch for extra crunch
  • 1 tsp baking powder to puff up the batter
  • 1 tsp salt for seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp paprika for smokiness
  • 1/2 cup cold water to create batter
For the Honey Garlic Sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp chili sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp ginger minced
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes

Method
 

  1. Step 1: In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, black pepper, and paprika.
  2. Step 2: Gradually add the cold water to the dry ingredients, whisking until a smooth batter forms.
  3. Step 3: Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet or frying pan over medium-high heat.
  4. Step 4: Dip each shrimp into the batter, then carefully place them in the hot oil.
  5. Step 5: Fry the shrimp in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  6. Step 6: In a separate saucepan, combine honey, soy sauce, chili sauce, minced garlic, ginger, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes. Cook over medium heat until the sauce thickens slightly, about 2-3 minutes.
  7. Step 7: Toss the crispy shrimp in the sauce until evenly coated.
  8. Step 8: Serve immediately, garnished with chopped green onions.
