Method
- Step 1: In a bowl, soak the shrimp in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes.
- Step 2: In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Step 3: In another bowl, place the panko breadcrumbs.
- Step 4: Remove shrimp from buttermilk and dredge each piece in the flour mixture, shaking off any excess flour.
- Step 5: Dip the floured shrimp back into the buttermilk, then coat with panko breadcrumbs, pressing lightly to adhere.
- Step 6: Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet over medium heat. Once hot, fry the shrimp in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- Step 7: In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, and honey until smooth.
- Step 8: Serve the crispy shrimp drizzled with the sauce and garnish with chopped green onions.
Notes
Store any leftover shrimp in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. For best results, avoid microwaving.
