  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro optional

  • Oven

Method

  3. Step 3: Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese, shredded Monterey Jack cheese, diced green chiles, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Make sure everything is evenly incorporated.
  4. Step 4: If desired, fold in the chopped cilantro now.
  5. Step 5: Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and spread it out evenly.
  6. Step 6: Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the dip is bubbly and the top is golden.
  7. Step 7: Remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Make sure cream cheese is softened to room temperature for smooth texture. Drain green chiles well to avoid watery dip. Use freshly shredded cheese for best melting. The dip can be prepared ahead and refrigerated for up to 24 hours before baking. Serve warm with tortilla chips, vegetable sticks, or warm bread.
