- Step 1: First things first, preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Then, lightly grease a baking dish with a little olive oil so our chicken doesn't stick.
- Step 2: In a shallow dish, get your bread crumb mixture ready. Combine the bread crumbs, 1/2 cup of the grated Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Give it a good stir!
- Step 3: In a separate shallow dish, whisk together the two large eggs and the 1/4 cup of milk. This is what your chicken will dive into after the flour.
- Step 4: Place the 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour in a third shallow dish.
- Step 5: Now, take each chicken breast and dredge it in the flour, making sure to shake off any excess. Then, dip it into the egg mixture, letting any extra drip off, and finally, coat it thoroughly with the bread crumb mixture. Press the crumbs on gently so they really stick!
- Step 6: Heat the 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Carefully place the coated chicken breasts in the hot skillet and sear them for about 3 to 4 minutes per side. You're looking for a beautiful golden-brown crust!
- Step 7: Once seared, transfer those gorgeous chicken breasts to your prepared baking dish. They're almost there!
- Step 8: In a small bowl, mix together the remaining 1/2 cup of grated Parmesan cheese, the shredded mozzarella cheese, and the minced garlic. Sprinkle this delightful cheese mixture evenly over the top of each chicken breast. Oh, it's going to be so good!
- Step 9: Pop the baking dish into your preheated oven. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the cheese topping is melted, bubbly, and gorgeously golden.
- Step 10: Carefully remove the dish from the oven. Let it rest for just a minute, then serve your delicious Longhorn Steakhouse Parmesan Chicken immediately. It's fantastic with a side of pasta, a fresh salad, or some roasted veggies. If you love chicken dishes, you might also enjoy our creamy garlic butter chicken alfredo pasta!
Notes
This recipe is super adaptable! Don't have Italian seasoning? No problem! A mix of dried oregano, basil, and thyme works beautifully. Feel free to experiment with other cheeses! A sprinkle of provolone or cheddar can add a fun twist. For a little kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to your bread crumb mixture. If you don't have bread crumbs, you can pulse some crackers or even stale bread in a food processor until they form crumbs. If you’re a big garlic fan, consider adding a touch of garlic powder to the breading mixture as well.
