Ingredients

  • 0.5 cup fresh lime juice from about 4-5 limes
  • 1 can full-fat coconut milk about 13.5 oz
  • 0.25 cup sweetened condensed milk or sugar adjust to preference
  • 2 cups ice
  • 0.5 cup cold water optional, for desired consistency
  • lime slices and shredded coconut for garnish, optional

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Pitcher (optional)

Method

  1. Step 1: Grab your blender. Pour in the fresh lime juice, the entire can of coconut milk, your sweetened condensed milk (or sugar), and all that lovely ice.
  2. Step 2: Blend it all together until it’s super smooth and delightfully frothy. You want it to look like a creamy, dreamy, tropical cloud!
  3. Step 3: If you notice it’s a bit too thick for your liking, no worries! Just add that ½ cup of cold water and give it another quick blend. This is where you can really dial in your perfect consistency.
  4. Step 4: Before you pour, give it a little taste. Does it need a touch more sweetness? Go ahead and add a bit more condensed milk or sugar and blend again. We want it just right for you!
  5. Step 5: Pour your beautiful Limonada de Coco into glasses. If you’re feeling fancy (and I always recommend it!), add some fresh lime slices and a sprinkle of shredded coconut to the rim. Serve immediately and enjoy the taste of paradise!

Notes

For a dairy-free twist, swap sweetened condensed milk for a vegan alternative or simple syrup. Add mint leaves or a splash of vanilla extract for extra flavor. For an adult treat, add white rum or coconut rum. Serve immediately for the best texture; leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours and may need a stir or re-blend.
