  • 4 large flour tortillas soft and sturdy
  • 1-2 tbsp butter or oil for crispy exterior

Equipment

  • Skillet

Method

  1. Step 1: Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and finely diced onion. Cook until beef is browned and onions are soft. Drain excess grease.
  2. Step 2: Sprinkle in garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir in ketchup and yellow mustard. Cook together for 1–2 minutes to let flavors meld. Remove from heat.
  3. Step 3: Lay one tortilla flat. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over half. Add beef mixture on top, then another layer of cheese.
  4. Step 4: Fold tortilla over into a half-moon shape, pressing gently to keep filling in place.
  5. Step 5: Heat butter or oil in skillet over medium heat. Cook quesadilla 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown and cheese is melted.
  6. Step 6: Let quesadilla rest 1–2 minutes, then slice into wedges. Serve warm with burger sauce or ketchup.

Notes

Optional add-ins: diced pickles, cooked bacon bits, sesame seeds, or burger sauce for dipping. Swap ground beef for turkey or chicken for lighter options. Use pepper jack or mozzarella cheese for variation. Store leftovers wrapped in foil or airtight container in fridge up to 2 days. Reheat in skillet to retain crispiness.
