Ingredients

For the Cheddar Parmesan Garlic Butter Chicken
  • 2 pieces chicken breasts lean and protein-packed
  • 1 tsp salt enhances flavor
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper adds warmth
  • 1 tbsp olive oil keeps chicken juicy
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter for rich flavor
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream creates creamy sauce
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese for melty texture
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese for flavor kick
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning brings herb blend
  • 8 oz penne pasta perfect vessel for sauce
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Equipment

  • Large Skillet
  • Large Pot
  • Oven

Method

  1. Step 1: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) so it’s ready to go when your chicken is done.
  2. Step 2: Season the chicken breasts with salt and black pepper, making sure to coat them well.
  3. Step 3: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned chicken and cook until golden brown on both sides, about 5-7 minutes per side. Once done, remove from the skillet and set aside.
  4. Step 4: In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Sauté the minced garlic until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  5. Step 5: Pour in the heavy cream, stirring to combine. Then, add the cheddar cheese, Parmesan cheese, and Italian seasoning, stirring until the cheeses are melted and the sauce is smooth.
  6. Step 6: Cook the penne pasta according to package instructions. Once cooked, drain and add to the creamy sauce, mixing well to coat the pasta.
  7. Step 7: Place the chicken breasts on top of the creamy pasta in the skillet. Transfer the skillet to your preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through.
  8. Step 8: Once out of the oven, garnish with chopped parsley before serving. Enjoy your delicious meal!

Notes

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, simply warm in the oven or microwave until heated through. The creamy sauce may thicken in the fridge, so add a splash of milk when reheating if needed.
