Ingredients
Method
- Step 1: In a medium saucepan, combine the cornstarch, water, and corn syrup. Stir the mixture together until it's smooth and well combined.
- Step 2: Place the saucepan over medium heat. Stir continuously as the mixture heats up. You'll see it start to thicken and become clear.
- Step 3: Once the mixture has thickened, remove the saucepan from heat and let it cool slightly. If you’d like to add color, now is the time!
- Step 4: Pour the colored mixture onto a sheet of wax paper. Use a spatula or spoon to spread it into your desired shape and thickness.
- Step 5: Allow the bioplastic to dry for 24-48 hours, until it is completely hardened.
- Step 6: Once dry, carefully peel the suncatcher off the wax paper and admire your handiwork!
- Step 7: Hang your bioplastic suncatcher in a sunny window and watch as the sunlight shines through.
Notes
To keep your suncatchers looking their best, store them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight when not in use.
