Ingredients
  

For the Borax Crystal Flowers
  • 1 cup boiling water this will be the base of your crystal solution
  • 3 tbsp Borax the magical ingredient that creates the crystals
  • Pipe cleaners (various colors)
  • Optional: Food coloring

Equipment

  • Glass Jar or Container
  • Stirring Stick

Method
 

  1. Step 1: Begin by boiling water until it reaches a rolling boil. Carefully measure out 1 cup of the boiling water and pour it into your glass jar or container.
  2. Step 2: Next, add 3 tablespoons of Borax to the hot water. Using your stirring stick, mix the solution until the Borax is completely dissolved.
  3. Step 3: Take your pipe cleaners and bend them into flower shapes. Once shaped, attach them to a stick or simply place them in the solution.
  4. Step 4: Allow your jar to sit undisturbed for 24 hours. During this time, crystals will begin to form around the pipe cleaners.
  5. Step 5: After 24 hours, gently remove the flowers from the solution. Allow them to dry completely, and marvel at the beautiful crystals that have formed.

Notes

Store your Borax Crystal Flowers in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. If they gather dust, a gentle dusting with a soft cloth will help maintain their sparkle.
